Performing Arts

3rd, 4th and 5th graders are invited to register and audition. Participation will be limited to the first 50 students. Audition materials will be provided after you register.

BEFORE YOU REGISTER...

-Carefully review the dates and discuss the time commitment with your child. Rehearsals will be after school on DAYS starting the week of TBD. It is VERY important that your child attend ALL rehearsals, tech week and performances. If your child cannot make this commitment, please do not register for the play. We do not cast understudies and all roles cast are important to the success of the play.

-Review the Student Contract and discuss the expectations regarding academics, attendance & behavior with your child. All students will be expected to sign & abide by the behavior contract, with a three strike rule. Donations will NOT be refunded in cases where the student has been asked to step down due to violations of the behavior contract.

AUDITION DAY & TIME COMING SOON! 

DANCE

We will begin with a short group dance audition. Please arrive dressed in clothing suitable for movement, with hair pulled back away from your face. Shorts must be worn under any skirts or dresses. For your safety, please wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes, such as sneakers. 

VOCAL & ACTING

Each participant will have the opportunity to read a short monologue and sing a short song. Please use only the music that we have provided. You are encouraged to try to memorize your song and your lines, so that you can feel confident and have fun! However, if you would like to hold your script during your audition, that is perfectly fine, too.

The production of this play is not a fundraiser. Tuition donations and ticket sales subsidize the cost of this wonderful experience. 

A suggested donation of $250 per participant is requested to put towards the cost of production. There is a $20 deposit due at the time of registration. We will follow up with families to collect the remaining amount, discuss monthly payments or scholarship opportunities.

We want to encourage ALL students who are interested to participate in the musical, regardless of their ability to pay. Please reach out to carlylawson1@gmail.com to discuss scholarship opportunities.  

We require all participants and their parents to sign an "Actor's Contract" outlining the responsibilities that go with accepting a part. Please read the following in order to make a well‐informed decision before registering for the musical: 

Loma Vista Actor's Contract/Commitment:

The Loma Vista PTO would like to provide a fun learning experience and a quality show from skilled professionals. We feel that every cast member is important. The musical is run by volunteers and requires a level of responsibility and courtesy from the actors and families to ensure a safe and successful program. A three-strike rule will be in effect. Any actor who receives three strikes will be asked to step down from the play and their role will be reassigned. Donations will not be refunded in these cases.
